Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Income Officer to join a forward-thinking UK-based organisation. This role is ideal for someone with strong financial administration skills and a passion for maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely income collection. You will play a vital role in managing rental income processes, supporting financial reporting, and maintaining positive relationships with tenants and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage tenant rent profiles in Xero, including contacts and repeating invoices

• Allocate daily rental payments within Xero to maintain accurate financial records

• Prepare and maintain rental income reports using Excel and Xero

• Monitor and pursue outstanding rental debts, following up with tenants professionally

• Manage debtor accounts and ensure timely resolution of arrears

• Oversee tenant payment subscriptions via GoCardless and Stripe

• Liaise with Local Authorities to coordinate housing benefit payments

• Process and reconcile Benefit Decision Notices accurately

• Maintain clear and up-to-date financial documentation

• Communicate effectively with tenants and internal teams regarding payment queries

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in a finance, accounts receivable, or income officer role

• Working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting software

• Strong Excel skills for reporting and data analysis

• Experience managing debtor accounts and chasing outstanding payments

• Familiarity with payment platforms such as GoCardless and Stripe

• Understanding of rental income processes or property management (preferred)

• Ability to liaise with Local Authorities or similar external bodies

• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must have a reliable laptop and stable internet connection
