About the Role
Remote Recruitment is seeking a reliable and detail-driven Bookkeeper to support our UK-based clients remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting month-end reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for South African finance professionals looking to grow their careers while working with international businesses from the comfort of their home.
Key Responsibilities
Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately in accounting software
Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and supplier accounts on a regular basis
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Prepare and submit VAT returns and other financial reports as required
Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records and filing systems
Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve financial discrepancies
Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting/finance role
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and double-entry accounting
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment
Experience with UK accounting standards or VAT is advantageous
