Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Payroll Administrator to support a UK-based employer in processing payroll accurately and on time. This role is ideal for a South African professional who is organised, proactive, and confident working with UK teams remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support end-to-end payroll processing for UK-based employees on a weekly or monthly basis
- Handle payroll calculations, statutory deductions, and compliance with HMRC regulations
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders across time zones
- Maintain accurate records of payroll data, employee changes, and tax submissions
- Use relevant tools such as Sage Payroll, Xero, or similar payroll platforms
- Support the wider HR and finance team with payroll queries, reporting, and year-end processes
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy and streamline processing workflows
Qualifications and Experience
- 2+ years of experience in payroll administration or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage payroll for multiple employees simultaneously
- Proficient in payroll software such as Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
- Able to work independently and manage your own time effectively
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Experience with UK payroll legislation or working with UK-based employers is advantageous
- Must have a reliable laptop, stable internet connection, and a quiet working environment
Salary: R30,000/month | 100% Remote
