General Manager (Fashion-Focused)

Location: Fully Remote, South Africa-Based ( working UK hours )
Salary: R44,000-R55,000pm ( experience dependant )

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced General Manager with strong finance, operations, and leadership skills, ideally with a background in fashion. This role is both strategic and hands-on, involving financial planning, operational oversight, team coordination, and business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate combines financial acumen with operational expertise and thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, monitor burn rate, and provide actionable financial insights for cost efficiency and profitability.

  • Conduct and interpret daily P&L reports, budget forecasts, and profitability analyses.

  • Collaborate with finance personnel to prepare monthly financial reports, offering strategic insights and recommendations.

• Operational Oversight:

  • Manage seamless day-to-day operations, including logistics, inventory, and import/export processes, optimizing efficiency and quality control.

  • Set and track KPIs for team members, ensuring accountability and goal alignment.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.

• Business Development & Strategy:

  • Develop and execute business growth strategies, focusing on market positioning, brand expansion, and competitive analysis.

  • Conduct market research to align the brand with industry trends, identifying new opportunities for revenue growth and partnerships.

• Team Leadership & Coordination:

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across finance, marketing, and operations, fostering a positive and productive team culture.

  • Provide coaching and set clear objectives for team members, ensuring alignment with company goals.

  • Facilitate communication across departments, keeping all stakeholders informed on progress and updates.

• Client & Stakeholder Relations:

  • Represent the company in board and client meetings, providing insights on financial and operational performance.

  • Manage relationships with external partners to support business growth and continuity.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a general manager or senior operations role within the fashion industry or similar fast-paced environment.

• Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Xero or equivalent accounting software.

  • Comprehensive understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, P&L, and financial forecasting.

  • Proven ability to oversee logistics, supply chain, and inventory management.

• Qualities: Strategic yet hands-on leader with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach; strong communicator and proactive problem-solver.
