About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Desktop Support Technician to join a forward-thinking UK-based company, providing essential technical support and ensuring smooth IT operations. This fully remote position is ideal for a tech-savvy professional in South Africa who enjoys problem-solving and delivering top-tier assistance. You'll work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM UK time, as an independent contractor, managing IT systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting end-users to maintain business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first and second-line IT support, troubleshooting technical issues promptly.
- Maintain and manage IT infrastructure, covering software, hardware, and networks.
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
- Implement security updates, patches, and compliance measures to safeguard IT systems.
- Assist with onboarding and off boarding processes, ensuring proper IT setup.
- Document technical solutions and procedures for future use.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve IT systems and efficiency.
- Provide remote assistance using IT help desk tools and ticketing systems.
What You’ll Need
- At least 1-2 years of IT support experience in a professional setting.
- Strong proficiency in Windows & Mac OS, networking, and cloud applications.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, VPNs, and remote desktop tools.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and clear communication abilities.
- Essential equipment: A reliable laptop, high-speed internet, and a headset with a microphone.
